Student Led Conferences
Portfolio Requirements: Cover Letter, Skills and Effort Description.
Cover Letter:Please word process a paper that summarizes what you have learned this year. In this document, you should identify what is your favorite part of science, what is your least favorite part of science and why. My favorite part of science is genetics. It is very interesting how DNA can be so precise like that. And that one little letter can lead to diseases such as cancer and hemophilia.
Skills & Effort Description:
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) rate yourself on your ability to complete all the assignments for class. Why?
(things like, time spent on assignments outside of class, time and effort spent studying for quizzes/tests, etc.)I feel I should get a 4. I am doing pretty well. I do need to spend some more quality time studying in different ways. I need to get it secure in my brain and not just re-read the chapter.

On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) rate yourself on your ability to work with others in class. Why? I give myself a 5. The projects we do in class I contribute a lot to. I usually get the directions and help everybody else.
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) Describe/list steps you will take to improve upon your performance for next quarter/year. Why? I am going to spend more quality time studying (like 15 mins a day) and not just re-reading the chapter. I am going to make chapter outlines with key concepts.
On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best) Has your performance in Science this year been improving, getting worse, or staying the same? Can you explain why this may be the case? From the last two quarters it has been improving. This quarter, however, it has dropped. It is probably because I did not study as well and as hard as I did the last two quarters.
